Motorola Atrix 4G Smartphone – A Dual-core Marvel
The Atrix 4G Smartphone is available for pre-order in America. Dubbed "the world's most powerful smartphone" by creator Motorola, this new smartphone is their bid for the upper end of the Android phone market, and it's crammed with impressive features.
The 1 GHz dual-core processor is the first of its kind in a mobile phone. That's right, the Atrix 4G is the first dual core smartphone. You might think all that processing power would drain any phone quickly, but the Atrix 4G's 1930mAh battery will last for almost 24 hours of heavy use. The 16 GB onboard hard drive can hold plenty of apps and media. Speaking of media, the Atrix 4G Smartphone's front and rear-facing cameras both record stunning 720p video and take 5 megapixel photos. U.S. Atrix users can also use AT&T U-verse® Mobile to schedule recordings of their favorite tv shows, and even download and watch them on the Atrix itself.
Motorola will offer two different docks to exponentially extend the Atrix's abilities. The HD Multimedia Dock features three USB ports, enabling you to connect your favorite USB keyboard and mouse. Even more impressive, the built-in HDMI output allows you to connect to any HDMI-compatible display, whether it's a computer monitor for doing business or an HDTV and surround sound system for watching movies or playing games in the comfort of your own living room. The Laptop Dock, on the other hand, turns the Atrix 4G into a self-contained, fully-featured laptop. Conveniently light and thin at 2.4 pounds, the Laptop Dock contains an 11.6-inch screen, complete keyboard, stereo speakers, and its own battery for up to eight hours of battery life. The Atrix 4G fits snugly into the back of the Laptop Dock, turning it into an all-in-one productivity machine unprecedented in the smartphone market.
The Atrix 4G runs Google Android 2.2 and possesses a Mozilla Firefox 3.6 web browser with support for the Adobe Flash Player, the software that powers Youtube and countless other video sites and online games. As a dual core smartphone, it can handle the most intensive Android and Flash applications with ease.
The Motorola Atrix 4G Smartphone can be pre-ordered for the price of $199.99 with a 2 year contract from AT&T.
